Bad Azz Gone 2 soon': Snoop Dogg mourns fellow rapper who authorities say died in California jail

Jamarr Antonio Stamps, a rapper also known as Bad Azz, died Monday while being held in custody at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta, California, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The sheriff's department and Riverside County Coroner's Bureau are investigating his death. There were no signs of foul play, authorities said. Stamps, 43, died around 5 a.m. Monday after jail staff did a security check and saw he was in need of medical attention. He was pronounced dead at the jail after medical and fire personnel attempted life-saving measures, the sheriff's department said. The coroner's bureau will determine his cause of death. Stamps was in the Murrieta jail after being arrested Friday on Labo Vista Lane in Wildomar, California, according to jail records. He was being held on $10,000 bail and facing a potential charge of injuring a spouse or cohabitant. He was due to appear in court Wednesday, records showed. Friends and colleagues mourned Stamps' passing on social media.
